FieldComm Plus is a leading test set for the DNP3 protocol.

It was commissioned by the South African Electricity provider, Eskom, and used extensively to monitor and and detect problems on their remote distribution network.

FieldComm removes the need for field technicians to be experts in the DNP3 protocol, or to debug DNP-based problems. It has strong data integrity and does not allow users to send non-DNP3 messages, for example. It guides users in their interaction with remote transmission units, and allows easily constructed message to be sent.

Geared towards the field technician, FieldComm includes a great number of useful features that increases productivity:
  • Frame Summary - Summary of frames on the link
  • Object Summary - Summary of all the objects in the frames
  • Frame Details - Details and complete breakdown of frame structure
  • Object Details - Detailed view of all data contained inside a frame
  • Two modes of operation - Master mode for control and Simulation mode for monitoring
  • Raw view - Raw HEX of every frame
  • Point Database - status and values of all points when in Master simulation mode
  • Ability to capture sessions to file for replay, or transmission for other FieldComm users
  • Sophisticated filtering mechanism to help users eliminate noise and find problems quickly and easily.
  • FieldComm can translate almost all available group object variations in the DNP3 protocol.
