A person's
visual perception system is the most computationally advanced
of all the senses and more information can be received through
visual images than through language. The phrase a picture
speaks a thousand words rings true about this fact.
Using
self-organising maps we have developed a platform that enables
one to visualise multidimensional data. Stock options, for
example, have a number of coefficients that describe their
risk and volatility. Our visualisation tool, SomFin, can display
a layout of stock options, ordered by all their describing
coefficients simultaneously.

by numerous characteristics/attributes) has many applications
in a variety of industries.

company's email correspondence can be organised by date, content,
author, recipient and size. Seeing a visual image of how information
flows through a business may provide valuable insight for

attributes of company personnel in order to identify areas
